The Beauty of the Scottish Highlands

One of the most beautiful sights to see when visiting Scotland is the Scottish Highlands. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, located in the historic section of Scotland, the area is more commonly known as Scottish Highlands. The reason being that it is noticeable that the lowlands. The Great Glen is the divider of the Grampian Mountains to the southeast of the Northwest Highlands. This castle dates back to 1350 when Lachlan Lubanach MacLean of Duart married Mary whose father was John of Islay, Lord of the Isle and the castle was given to her as part of her dowry. The caste was occupied until 1751 and today remains unoccupied. One of the most famed castles located in the Highlands is Balmoral Castle; this castle is located near the village of Crathie. This castle has been and still is one of the residences of the Royal Family starting back in 1852.

This castle sits within the confines of the Cairngorms National Park, it has 49,000 acres and it has many special and beautiful landscapes. There are 6 smaller properties on the grounds. Aside from the beautiful structures in the Highlands, there are some really pretty sites to see. One of them is the Kyle of Durness, this area is a remote parish located in the Highlands. It encloses all of the land from the Moine to the East and the Gualin to the West. There are only about 400 people in this region and it sits in the Highland Council Area under the sovereign state of the United Kingdom.

You haven't seen anything until you have seen Bla Bheinn or Blavin. This is a mountain landscape that is one of the most spectacular in the world. The elevation is 3,045 feet with a prominence of 2,831 feet and it is ranked 19th in the British Isles.
